Here's my story

After I finally got Discworld II working perfectly on DOSBox, I realized that I can't save.
I'm playing the game from a CD, which means it's read-only, so I'm guessing this is why the saved files can't get saved on the CD.
Assuming this is the problem, I copied all the files in the CD into my hard disk, mounted the folder where I copied the files, and tried running the game, but got the error "Cannot locate the Discworld CD".

Any ideas how I can save?
Is there a way to change where the saved game goes other than the CD?

Indeed. That's why those are called read-only media.

Install the game.

wd, when I install the game, I can't play it from DOSBox, and it doesn't work without it, and when I copy the CD files, it gives me that error.

Minimax, I will check out that link and see what happens.
