After upgrading to Ubuntu 8.10, I noticed that the arrow key codes changed. I can use the DOSBOX keymapper to set them, except (1) the LEFT arrow key isn't properly seen as such within Doom and Quake, and (2) the SAVE feature doesn't seem to work properly.
The SAVE feature does create the "mapper.txt" file, but when I start a new DOSBOX session, not all of the arrow key bindings are properly set. In particular, the DOWN key isn't set, although the UP key is. Is this weird? I think it is.
I'm about ready to start playing with "xmodmap" to try putting the arrow key codes back to values understood natively by DOSBOX. Of course, at this point I'm fairly clueless as to what those values might be, as well as without data on WHY the xorg people decided to make this change.
Any pointers appreciated.
Thanks,
Henry F.
