I am trying to install a DOS game called Zombieville.
But I get the error message "Not enough space on drive C." But I have 100 GB free!
Can someone help me get the game running?

Look in the DOSBox README for -freesize.
it worked! Thank you!
I have another problem.
The intro of the game seems to be running too fast, and at the end when the game is about to start, it freezes, and nothing happens.
I hit ctrl F 11 to slow the speed down, but to no vail.
I am using DosBox 0.70
Any suggestions?
PS. The game is bugged as hell. But there's no patch, and the game is supposed to begin anyway. The bugs only affect the game later on.
I am using DosBox 0.70
Why?
[MOVED]
Get latest DOSBox 0.72
Intel i7 5960X
Gigabye GA-X99-Gaming 5
8 GB DDR4 (2100)
8 GB GeForce GTX 1070 G1 Gaming (Gigabyte)
Just tried DosBox 0.72
Same thing: the game freezes
Is there anything I can do?
have you tried loadfix ? Helps sometimes with hanging games.
Water flows down the stream
How to ask questions the smart way!
At what point should I type loadfix in DosBox?
here's how I try to run the game:
Mount d g:\ -t cdrom
Mount c c:\zomb\zomb
c:
dir\
zville.bat
Plz guide me through 😀
before zville.bat, and check the response of loadfix
when I typed "loadfix" it told me that '64 kb allocated'
However, it didn't help as the game freezes again.
What's strange is that the intro of the game runs insanely fast (and there's no music). Could it have something to do with the game freezing?
When I installed the game, I did configure sound and digital audio (soundblaster 100% compatibles & ultra gravis something, respectively)
what else can I try?
The mounting looks different than the mounting used when installing the game, why?
I already installed the game to my drive C (in a folder called Zomb)
So, to get the game started I first mount the drive where my CD is located (drive g) by typing the following command : mount d g:\ -t cdrom
Then I mount the folder where my game is located. I.e. "mount c c:\zomb\zomb"
Then I do this :
c:
dir\
there I find zville.bat So, I type "zville.bat"
And the intro of the game begins, but when the intro comes to an end and when the game should begin, it just freezes.
Am I doing smth wrong?
Install it WITHIN dosbox, everything else is bound to fail.
I installed the game FROM DosBox to my drive C (using 60 seconds guide on this website).
Is that what you meant by "installing it WITHIN DosBox"?
What i mean is
a) start dosbox
b) mount the hd and cdrom in some sensible way
c) install the game
d) play the game
e) exit dosbox
Note that exiting dosbox is ONLY done as last step. When you replay the
game, use the EXACTLY same mounting as in step b)
I did exactly that. But when I get to step "d) play the game", it freezes 🙁
Any suggestions?
As i said use the CORRECT mounting. The game installs by default into the
zomb subdirectory, so to start the game you HAVE to change the directory.
You posted you don't have to, so you either installed it into a different
directory (wrong) or you didn't installed it inside dosbox (wrong). I surely
won't respond any longer if you're not sticking to the exact wording of
MiniMax's guide.
I suggest you read my guide again. And read it out loud in a quiet room.
