I hope this hasn't been mentioned in any of the other Daggerfall threads. I got the free release of Daggerfall and it runs just fine, however whenever I try to load a state I saved inside or near a city, the game freezes and I have to exit Dosbox. Loading states saved in dungeons or away from cities works fine.
did you try the forums of bethsoft ?

No I haven't. But you're right. I immediately assumed that it was a dosbox related error, but it might just as well be one of the game's many bugs.

What cycles= and core= settings are you using? How long are you waiting? I've noticed it can take a good 20 seconds or so to load a saved game sometimes with cycles=30000 and core=dynamic.
Cycles: 20000, core=dynamic, although I don't think it has anything to do with that. I've tried various save states and the ones away from cities load almost instantaeously. I don't think I have waited 20 seconds for a state to load, 10 or 15 maybe. I'll try that, but I don't have much hope.
It actually did work! Takes almost 30 seconds, but that's no big problem. Sorry for creating another redundant Daggerfall thread, and thanks a lot!
