I got this game off Ebay to.......Here is how I got it to work on my XP ....Oh and Have fun.
I know this post is like 3 years old but I must have read it in every google serach trying to find a soulution to getting it to work for my Willy Beamish...so I tucked it away and it collected dust for about 2 years untill I found these instuctions for Night Trap PC and tried it on willy beamish and Hey it worked......So I am writing this post so others having the same problem dont have to go thew what I did to get the answer..

1. Install DOSBox
Launch DOSBox0.70-win32-installer.exe (Or the Newest Version)
and follow the onscreen instructions.

2. Launch DOSBox
Find your DOSBox directory, or start the
program via the Start menu.

3. Set-up DOSBox
After launching DOSBox, there are only
two commands you will ever have to rem-
ember to launch Your game.

FIRST, TYPE:

mount c C: \

(Replace the 'c' and 'C: /' with your hard
drive letter. 99% of users will have "C"
as default.)

THEN, TYPE:

mount d d: \ -t cdrom

(Replace the 'd' and 'D: \' with your CDROM
drive letter the game disc is in or
mounted to. This is probably "D" or "E" for
real drives, and "F" for virtual drives.

4. That's it!
DOSBox isn't perfect -- there might be some
small pops in audio sound, but it's not bad
at all, and they go away after a while.
Everything else is perfect.

This helped me avoid the sound error "Unable to initialize hds! mode=4, port=544" error. I hope this helps others. I can't wait to play this game tomorrow.

Alternative, fully working method that doesn't include some stupidity as
mounting your FULL harddrive and exposing that to dos games:
the guides from the guide forum, applicable to most games including this.

In addition to ignoring DOSBox's warning about mounting the root of a local drive, your little "guide" here has some erroneous extras spaces: it should be like "D:\" not "D: \".

Launch DOSBox0.70-win32-installer.exe

This guide is obviously old. Why did you feel the need to post this and bump 2 other, long dead, topics?

Replace the 'c' and 'C: /' with your hard drive letter

The first c should be c regardless of what the actual drive letter is.
The second one should be a directory, not the root.

Replace the 'd' and 'D: \' with your CDROM drive letter the game disc is in

Same as above. The first d should be d regardless of what the actual drive letter is.
