The first edition of Win98 didn't support WDM at all. Nor do I know which VxDs might not work that would be relevant to a Win98 installation running in DOSBox.

DOSBox works better on the glass-half-empty side of 16bit vs 32bit. Win98 is more half-full towards 32-bit.

If you want to run 16-bit programs in DOSBox, you'll probably have a much easier time with Windows 3.x.

Yeah i get the same thing with 98. Crahes BSODs illegal operations with explorer, but the 3dfx emulation only seems to work with 98 (because 98 had detection for the 3dfx voodoo inbuilt) 95 on the other hand needed the install floppies. I have them but my floppy drive is busted so i cant make images of them. Anyway 95 always gives a BSOD setting up in dosbox probably because I select detect CD drive and video capture card.

I have a Win95 image working perfectly.

Why do you people insist on quoting the SCREENSHOTS? This is stupid, learn to quote...

And Windows is under copyright, asking for working images with Windows 9x on it is NOT allowed here...

How did you got that "Intell 82441FX Pentium (r) Pro processor to PCI bridge" driver ? I never got it on my Windows 9x on DOSbox SVN.

9x is not supported in official DOSBox and this forum is for official DOSBox.

You are quoting screenshots from a post made five years ago. The state of the SVN has probably advanced considerably since that time and any instructions relating to that device may no longer be relevant.

Try a VM instead of DOSBox.

This thread is ages old. Please try either a VM or use the dosbox-x fork. Plain Dosbox is not ideal for Windows 9x
