Hello, I just found out about dosbox and was excided when I found out I could finnaly play X-Com UFO Defense again. Only there is one problem. When i try to run the game it says this program cannot be run in dos. I have the Collectors editon. I Installed it into c:\x-com in windows, then I opened dosbox and mounted C, then I did c:\cd x-com
then I type cd ufodef~1 and it goes to C:\>x-com\ufodef~1
now when I'm in there i type ufodef~1.exe and it says "This Program cannot be run in DOS mode.

I tried my best to explain it, i hope you can understand. Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Ehm... read the error message again 😀

The collector's edition of X-Com games have been rewritten to operate in Windows instead of DOS. So you can't run them through a DOS emulator, nor through 'real' Dos - you have to run them through windows.

You have the collectors edition whicvh is designed to run in windows just click the ufodefense.exe in the microprose folder and it should run fine except for the random ctd's which happens with X-com under any windows environment .
