Here are the commands i typed in
Mount c c:
c:
mkdir dosgam
(I exited and moved files into directory)
Mount c c:\dosgam
c:
dir
(see a bunch of liero files)
liero.exe
The games started dos box exited after 1 second.

You can increase the cpu cycles. Dosbox will never show the error log. Make sure that the Liero that you're using is with sound. My one is without. Change the dosbox.conf file with something like notepad and change to use no sound.
Change the EMS and XMS memory too. You can try to use the *default drive* c:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\command.com and change its EMS memory and XMS. If the game still don't work, you should use VDMS
