Barbarian 2 - Error in DOSBOX, works on REAL HARD

Hi

I want to run Barbarian 2 on DOSBOX, but it says an error "DISK ERROR CHECK DRIVE"

I know that the game is playable because this video on youtube

And on real hardware works with no problems... (tested with my Hercules 286)

First i suspect that the game at some point want to check disk free space, so my mount line is that

mount c R:\DBOX-HDD\XT-HERC -freesize 5

and checked with the DIR command
disk-space-left_zpsrhgy69vm.png

But i can't play the game, is stuck on the DISK ERROR, can anyone guide me?

Please do not upload or link to copyrighted software on this forum.

You don't need to mess with the free space on the drive. The error occurs because PLAY.EXE has been renamed as PLAY.EX_, which you can clearly see in your DIR listing above, so change the name to what it should be.

Yes!!!... it works... the rare thing is that on real hard works also with PLAY.EX_. Thanks

EDIT: It has two EXEs. One for HERCULES and one for CGA/EGA... One EXE call another...

Cracks and or cracked software are not fully* emulated by DOSBox (lame "software") 😉)
