I try to run ballistics ...

With WinXP-SP1 I get the error "Program to big to fit in memory" (dos window) when i try to run setup from cd.
With Win98SE I get the error "not a valid win32 app" (win alert).

So I tried dosbox in xp ... When i try to run setup (to install the game, what else) nothing happens.
The extensions are shortened on the install disc (ex_, tx_, etc), so i tried copying the complete disc to hdd, and rename ballistics.ex_ to .exe.
When i try to run that file, i get this "illegal call 7" error, and dosbox closes ...

So, why doesn't setup do a thing, and why do i get that illegal call error?

tia!

renaming a file to .exe is quite dangerous. You're ordering dosbox to execute rubbish.

a fine with ends on a _ is usually packed. Try expand to unpack it.

where do i find this expand?

Btw, do you have an idea why this setup doesn't do anything, without error message?
I'd like to install and play like it should. Rather than fiddling with yet some more files and programs ...
