This is a program that "captures" the output of an OPL2/OPL3 synthesizer in realtime. You can find the program here:

http://sorry.vse.cz/~roman/dimension/rdos/rac/

I tried running this with the latest official version of DOSBox (0.61) and got this error:

rac_error.png

Messing with the obvious memory settings didn't seem to do anything.

Is this error familiar to anyone? Is it something that might be fixed in the next version?

disable both ems and xms and try again.
(works overhere then.)
with xms enabled doesn't work with current cvs.

starting rac in current public release of dosbox 6.1 works.
Well, if I want to store RAC's buffer to a file ("RAC s") I get following error message:

I tried the last CVS-Win32-release and RAC stores the buffer to the raw-file succesfully.
Well the raw file contains binary data but I cannot hear anything in winamp or rdosplay.
What is wrong?

The link is dead.
I searched hard on the internet, but I could not find it elsewhere.
Could someone please re-upload it or give a working link?
Thanks!

In case of emergency, the Internet Archive may help 😀
http://archive.org/

The original site URL can be typed over there. Having some luck, the RAC archive is actually up.

Just to be on the safer side (in terms of archiving), I've also attached it to this post for now.

If anybody gets an appropriate place (e.g. a website) for the rac001a.zip file, it may be good to remove the attachment from this post afterwards.

P.S. Oh, one more thing: Yeah, the year when this thread was started (2004) tells something...
The most recent backup from the Internet Archive comes from 2005. But then, it looks like page has never been updated since 1997.

Thanks for the tip. I went to archive.org and found the original site and the file, but thanks for uploading it anyway! 😀
