Did you actually switch to the Tandy machine type in DOSBox (i.e. machine=tandy) ?

May seem obvious, but I have to ask because you didn't mention anything about machine type. 😉

The executable does some weird shit and hangs the dosbox process completely, cant get to the debugger.
When I start the process to step through it with debug, it totally flips out. mov commands seem to execute jumps, interrupts the like. After checking the program was packed with LZEXE which afaik never had any antidebugging traps present. So I unpacked it, then the same weird shit happend.

When I switch back to tandy-colors/adlib all seems to work fine. This is some weird shit and definitely above my pay grade.

All sound options are working for me. Note that if the TANSND.CHP file is missing then the game will indeed hang when trying to use Tandy sound; but if you have that file then perhaps your game files are corrupt.

Ohh you are so right, facepalm 😊 TANSND.CHP is missing indeed, after copying the file everything started working 😁

I think I accidentally deleted it instead or with the dosbox.conf.
Was switching around configs to get the exact experience from the old days.

Saw it at a friends house, it was so fucking awesome on his Tandy.
I still wish I had one back in the day, but I had to do it with my hercules/xt.

I think I used simcga or some shit, behold the hercules greenish glory!
