│ HEYYYYY!!!! ok here you have the Pinball Fantasies Trainer │
│ Easy to use.. pretty good game.. by Team 17 (spacepigs) │
│ Important Info Below.. please read on to the *******'s │
│ │
│ Anyhow.. good to be back in RAZOR.. it's been a year since i've been out │
│ of this great group.. glad to be back.. this will definately be my │
│ final resting ground. ITU sorry Aviator.. didn't call me back. │
│ │
│ Train Notes* │
│ Easy to Train.. there is a built in trainer in the game.. but I'm not │
│ gonna tell you.. nyaahhh.. │
│ Easy, but a pain, cauze it was like making 4 seperate trainers for all │
│ 4 different pin ball machines.. cauze all the addresses were different. │
│ But I did it anyhow. I had to trap the mouse interrupt for this puppy. │
│ (don't you hate it when they directly set the interrupts instead of │
│ using int 21 ah=25... jerks) │
│ ok later │
│ │
├────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┤
│ │
│ Instructions: │
│ In the Game you can use these keys. │
│ 1 - (the numbah one) Toggles on/off infinate BALLS (deahhhhh) │
│ (need more of an explanation for that one?) │
│ │
│ 2 - Turns on SPRING MODE. │
│ press this once in the game.. when yer ball is on the springy thing │
│ (what the hell is that called) the thing that you pull back and let │
│ go to make the ball shoot.. (use the down arrow key) │
│ anyhow.. so use this when the ball is ready to be shot.. │
│ What does this do??? │
│ Now while the ball is going around the screen you can use the down │
│ arrow just as if you were shooting the ball again.. ANYTIME │
│ you can completely control the ball with this function. │
│ do you understand me??? do you get it??? try it.. you'll like it.. │
│ I did. │
│ │
│ Thats all you get for instructions │

I see the trainer tries to start the INTRO but then it immediately goes back to command prompt.

Thanks & Cheers

It's working for me in 0.74-3 and SVN with default settings except machine=vgaonly and cycles=8000. The trainer's text color appears correct in SVN but wrong in 0.74; other than that it seems okay.

Does the game start up when running PINBALL.EXE directly? I got the trainer from pouet.net; where did your copy come from?

I got it from pouet.net as well. I can't get it to run with neither 0.74-3 nor SVN r4338, even with vanilla settings resp. your settings. Confirmed the green text difference with SVN build though.
Running PINBALL.EXE directly works without problems.

Hmm, all things the same should produce the same result, so perhaps there is some important difference in launching. For example, what are your exact commands for mounting drives and executing the trainer program?

Maybe you have a different version of the game. I have seen at least two versions (perhaps EU and US, but not sure.) That could be significant.

If you see INTRO appear on DOSBox's title bar, even briefly, it indicates the trainer has executed the game, but then a decision to terminate is made for some reason.

You might try LOADFIX, but if that turns out to help then it's likely because of differences in environment variables or other things that affect where programs are loaded in memory.

Attached my conf file. I tried with LOADFIX but with the same result.

€dit: how can we compare the game versions?

We have the same version, except INTRO.MOD differs in hash value, but that is due the file being branded by the installer for copy protection purposes. It shouldn't be an issue if the game works without the trainer.

I notice you have no PINBALL.CFG file, and I wonder why, as the game should have created it when you run PINBALL.EXE directly.

I see how you mount from the conf file, but what commands do you use to run the trainer? What choices do you make in the SETSOUND program?

Your last question solved the riddle - I was using GUS in the SETSOUND programm. Now I switched it to SB16 and the trainer works... thank you for your time!!
