How easy would it be to 3D-print an AT/486 style case? Are there any sites/services that offer such a thing?

Cost prohibitive. You'd need a very large format 3D printer or pay an insane amount of money from a print service. But of course, it could be done if you designed one to be printed.
What would be easier is just use an existing chassis, and 3D print a front panel in any design you want. Even a small 3D printer could be used since pieces could be bolted together in a modular format.

You could use a USB 2.0 card as well. Those with NEC chipsets work nicely.

I got that same card to try and add Gigabit to my 98/XP machine but I didn't have any luck it didn't run any faster than the onboard 100 network port on the motherboard. Did you have to do anything special to reap the gigabit speeds of that card?

It's do-able, just it'll need to be multiple parts that all fit together. Ideally with some steel or aluminium bar giving some rigidity to the object. I've been pondering it for a while but not getting very far with it yet. Having a surface large enough to work as a side panel is rather tough with the size limit of the Prusa i3, which is slightly smaller than a sheet of A4 paper in total print area.
I made this bezel a while back, it prints in two parts and slots / glues together - this should give you a good idea of the scale of a PC compared to a 3d printer's print bed. This is a small Micro ATX case (Yeong Yang A210) and it still had to be printed in two parts. Getting such a big and complex print to stick for all 8 hours of print time was tough as well.
I should really put some time into wiring up the 'turbo' display for this thing at some point 😀 It's got a 386DX40 in there

Um, actually, I'm not sure if I have measured the speed of the card. I'll get back to you on that. But I've had no issues with it.

For some reason, my VIA card didn't quite work out. It always threw "File not Found" errors mid-transfer. Somehow, I got it to work reliably on my Socket 7 system now, and it still works there, but I have no idea how, or why 🤣
NEC cards, on the other hand, never gave me any issues.
Yesterday I ran into the first game that would not work with my MT-32 connected through PCMIDI card (The Magic Candle II). Nothing I did could stop the game from freezing on the initial "MINDSCAPE" screen, so I put it aside for a bit and then wondered if it might be one of those rare games hard coded for IRQ2 only. If so, that would mean I'd be completely out of luck, as my bios uses IRQ2 for ACPI.
Today after work I went through the manual for my motherboard to see if I could disable IRQ2/9 somehow, and I found some promising settings and went to work. I was able to free up IRQ9 in the BIOS, so I set the PCMIDI card to IRQ2 and ran MQDIAG, which showed the PCMIDI card on IRQ2. I then launched The Magic Candle II—success! It seems that the game does in fact require the MIDI interface to be set to IRQ2.
It was a bit of a pain, but I'm glad I have the PCMIDI card now set to the default IRQ2/Port330. This should eliminate any other possible incompatibilities I might run into later on!
Last week, I burned a Windows 98 SE CD-rom ISO.
In the process I (re)learned the following:
Tested out the Iwill XA100 Plus SS7 motherboard today. Happy that it actually works.. and I think this looks to be a fantastic board! I had to update the BIOS to the latest version, as it would not correctly detect my K6-III+ CPU and the performance was dreadful. Downloaded the BIOS from Jan Steunebrink's site and flashed it with the programmer I have. Performance looks to be where it should, and this is the G Rev of the Ali-V so it looks like its not affected like the Asus P5A.
The awesome feature about this board though is the SoftFSB in the BIOS. Combined with Setmul could this be the best board for SS7 Slowdown machine?

Need to really sit down with it now and map out the speeds of the CPU with cache manipulation.
