Aren’t these the boards whereby that’s not a “real” AGP slot, and instead is just a slot for a riser for adding DVI out to the onboard video?

Yep! Its a DVI riser-only slot.

Modified riser for AGP ADD slot (that slot supports only risers, but not videocards). My “combo” riser add DVI port for integrated videocard and USB5/6 ports. Made it with gameport/usb bracket.
