hey so i been to this site a few times to read stuff on 98se. and im trying to make the ultimate 98se pc.

so i got a few boards...
gigabyte ga-p35-dq6 (has nice water blocks on it)
biostar k8m800 micro am2 (agp with 6800 ultra) am2 5200
GA-P43T-ES3G (rev. 1.3) (one from phills computer lab 98se pci pc) 775,ddr3, xeon 4core x5470
GA-p43-ES3G (rev 1.4) 775,ddr2, xeon 4core x5470
msi ms-7387 (ver 1.0) has 98se chipset drivers
asus p5kpl-am se rev 2.00 (one from phills computer lab 98se pcie pc)

gpus i got...
2x 6800 pcie (no external power)
ASUS NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT pcie
RADEON X850 XT pcie
6800 ultra agp

hdd a few 10k raptor drives 80gb

other gotec SFR1M44-U100K Black 3.5" Floppy Disk Drive to USB emulator Simulation 1.44MB

on the way
2gb cf, 2x ide to cf pci adapters
heaven2017 High Speed Desktop Computer 4 Port 480Mbps PCI to USB2.0 Controller Card Adapter

so i got asus p5kpl-am se rev 2.00 from phills video and had a few problems installing 98se, made his 98se usb stick with nusb36 drivers had to buy 512mb ram once 98se installed i can patch it to take more. problem is it dos not run stable and all the mb i install 98se too also dont run stable the asus p5kpl-am se is the most stable of them thow. i think i need to install the sp 3.33? but dont no what to install. i just want to play games that it.

so i wanted an even after 9s8e mb even thow i dont have a stable one yet so i got the GA-P43T-ES3G (rev. 1.3) after watching phills video. has ddr3 and you can nistall 98se with the 1gb ddr3 ram for some reason? anyway no problem there but the nusb36 dose not work. works fine in the other mbs but not this one. this is my problem. so i got the gotec floppy thing and some how got a usb stick to format and got other nusb drivers on it but still no drives will detect. some ware on the net said that the nusb 3.6 dose not work and used nusb33d. still nothing? unless my usb sticks just dont work? there scan disc 16gb usb 3.0.

DO NOT use the unofficial service pack for Win98SE. It will cause all sorts of issues.

Just use the 2004 Microsoft update CD which is available on vogonsdrivers.com

The 8800 GT is almost for sure not going to work even with the modded drivers for 98SE. The newest in have been able to get to not BSOD with 98SE is the 7900GTX.

However, I have not tested with the 320MB 8800 GT.

Only the G80 versions of the 8800 series cards ever have any chance of working. The G92 cards will never work.

thx ill have to try that

ya its a 256 memory and 256 bit 8800 gt. i no with a patch you can get the 512 gpus to work but i dont no how to install that. if the modded drivers dont work ill just use the x850 as i got the 8800 gt before i found the x850 for $85. i no the 8800 has way different shades and stuff so even if it dose work probably wont for some games.

RayeR modded some chipset drivers to work on newer intel chipsets like ICH 10, but I can't remember what his site was and its probably archived on wayback machine. I posted them here before but I cant remember where.

I'm not sure how active he is but you can try mesaging him. Another good person to ask is ruthan, he might be able to help you. Id try messaging them both.

thx for the replay. its odd because phill did a video and installed 98se just fine and said nothing bout usb problems... im wondering might be my flash drives with this mb? i tried all kind's of nusb. i click on the drive and says access denied.
