Well, this didn't go as simply as I had hoped.
In an attempt to upgrade the memory on a Macintosh 128k I received in 2012 from a now-late relative,
I seem to have borked the system, which turns on not with the familiar bell bong, but a harsh staticky noise,
and an almost completely broken screen at first (So badly I can't even read the error code).:
It's now gotten worse, when I tested it last night, with a completely static-laden screen.
To do this, I used this article (There's a PDF somewhere on the page)...:

...along with a heat gun (I was careful) to preserve the Apple-branded memory. I didn't see any delamination bumps, so I'm assuming the logic board itself was not affected.
I did check certain attributes to make sure they were working properly, and did some replacements:
- There is continuity between all respective pins on the memory.
- I checked to make sure the data lines were connected to the CPU. (And they are, plus the system actually starts up, so I'm assuming that the CPU is executing code)
- Replaced the 253 Demuxers (just in case there was a problem with the memory select), also replaced more logic chips.
- Replaced all capacitors on the analog/power board.
Unfortunately, none of the symptoms match any problems in "The Dead Mac Scrolls". I even adjusted the voltage on the analog board. (It did nothing to fix the problem)
At this point, I'm not sure what is wrong.
