My 486 is giving a write error on a 2 gig CF card, even partitioned to 512MB. Sometimes i have a HDC fail during boot after changing something. once its got a see's a HD its pretty good. I have aquired a PCI card with the same FDC and HDC as the motherboard to see if its an onboard HDC is failing to deal with higher capacity HD's. With the onboard IDE controller disabled and PCI set to position 1, it fails to see the hard drive or floppy (also disabled onboard as its stuffed). With a EISA card the floppy works thru that ok. Primary and secondary set to int A and int B on the card. GA-108 card pt-432b motherboard. any ideas why its write erroring or now seeing the card?
