I had another thread pertaining to a Trinitron TV, and that TV had its front functions plate permanently open due to a plastic piece that was broken and long gone, exactly like the one in the attached picture.
I remembered this video by Tech Tangents testing this plastic reconstruction method that he heard elsewhere, and I decided to give it a try too as it was easy and affordable: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1meoZaHYZo
With some time and adjustments I managed to create a similar piece from nothing that was incredibly strong, and now I can close and open the front plate exactly like I would have with the original piece, it fits perfectly.
I'm sure everyone here has so many examples of frustrating broken plastic components that can be fixed, I can confirm it truly works. The baking soda-super glue composite is so strong that you can file and sculp it to any form that you wish. I was so happy with the results I just had to recommend it. Give it a try!
