From what I read it seems that Motherboard with a Apollo Pro Chipsets had/have some kind of AGP performance problems when they came out. Was this later on fixed with bios updates and drivers?!

I never owned one back in the day as I completly skipped the Pentium 3 Generation. Now I recently purchased a ASUS P3V4X Apollo Pro 133A Slot-1 ATX Motherboard with the newest Bios and drivers. I can't really complain about graphics card that wont' work and still saw some comments that users had framedrops on games / benchmarks etc.

what are youre experiences with this chipset?

I could purchase a rel. inexpensive 815EP Chipsetted board would you recommend that as an upgrade? The best recommendations I here always to get a 440bx board

thx

If it works for you, why change hardware based on other people's experiences ?
Performance with later more mature drivers is close enough that I wouldn't bother changing hardware unless some kind of functional compatibility and/or stability issue is encountered.

The 133A is a good chipset. Don't worry about it.
