I'm planning to buy a 300W PSU for my PC with the following specs;

ASUS P4V8X-X Mobo (PT800 chipset)
Pentium 4 - 1.80 Ghz (512 KB Cache)
ASUS - ATI RADEON 9550 AGP 4X/8X (128 Bit - 256 MB)
Creative SoundBlaster Live PCI
1 x 512 MB DDR400 RAM
120 GB IDE/PATA HDD
SATA CD-ROM
1.44 FDD

Would 300W be enough for such hardware? The current one (400W) seems not really working good, randomly resets the system and so..
Thus, I'm planning to replace it with a new one, however I could find only a 300W one that's compatible with that mobo.

Thanks for any clue in advance!

Hmm not sure what you mean? Missing molex/berg connectors? Otherwise the board has a standard ATX connector, should be easy to find. Check reddit / buildapcsales for PSUs. 400 or 500 W is probably the lowest you will find in a new modern unit.

P1: Packard Bell - 233 MMX, Voodoo1, 64 MB, ALS100+
P2-V2: Dell Dimension - 400 Mhz, Voodoo2, 256 MB
P!!! Custom: 1 Ghz, GeForce2 Pro/64MB, 384 MB

Getting a PSU for a Pentium 4 computer isn't hard, just make sure that it is a high-quality branded one. Modern PSUs still has a decent amount of molex connectors, and the 12V ATX 8-pin and the ATX 24-pin connector are backward compatible with the older 4-pin and 20-pin connectors respectively (several PSUs of them has detachable cables for this).

The only Pentium 4 motherboards where the PSU is really an issue would be the early ones that do not have the P4 connector - they have (to a lesser degree) the same concern of needing a very strong five volt rail that Socket A motherboards have. Your motherboard has the P4 connector, so any good quality 450 watt or higher power supply will work just fine.

After watching many YouTube videos about older computer hardware, YouTube began recommending videos about trains - are they trying to tell me something?
