So I have a motherboard with an annoying feature that if there is not a keyboard connected, it refuses to boot and there is no option in BIOS to disable this feature. Having to always have a PS/2 keyboard plugging into it is really annoying since I'm usually just accessing via network. I thought a fun project would be a dummy keyboard that's just a little dongle that plugs into the PS/2 port:

I think the only way to make it smaller would be to skip the PCB and manually solder it to the legs of the PS/2 connector.

And what's this? Why does it have an F1? Because it's actually a real keyboard with just one key, for when BIOS decides to complain about the previous boot being incomplete and needs you to press F1 to continue 😀 I have a few extra if people are interested, I can put them up somewhere for people to find.

Yes! I need this!

Do you have the pcb project files? How does it work?

I need one for AT din though. But an adapter is easy.

It just has a microcontroller inside and the button is capacitive touch. Not quite sure if I'm ready to release the pcb project files. Kind of a cool ship in a bottle project. Schematic wise it connects exactly how you'd expect a 5V microcontroller with open drain I/Os to connect.

It works on AT!

Suggest renaming thread to f1 keyboard. Was hard to find the thread

I thought about making something like this before, but I really like your implementation. Well done
