I see available slimline AT cases fairly often, but since they're not tall enough for cards vertically, they require a motherboard with a riser card.
I was wondering if there exists any kind of low-profile generic ISA or PCI riser card that can be stuck in an existing ISA/PCI slot of a "normal" motherboard, to allow a couple cards to be inserted sideways?
Or are they all proprietary?

There are isa and pci risers.

Making one is also possible. But a lot of non standard layouts exist.
