Hey Folks,
This is my last longshot as I have run out of ideas (and hair) trying to find recovery CDs for an old Sony VIAO laptop I have.
The model is: PCG-Z505LS
I suspect this is a local release and there's (hopefully) compatible US or Japanese versions I can use the recovery CDs from.

Some cruel monster put Windows XP on it. It ran like a dog. Personally I'd like to put Windows 98se on it but if I can get recovery CDs, I'll live with ME

Any advice gratefully accepted.

https://drivers.eu/Notebooks/SONY/PCG-Z505LS and http://sony.drivercan.com/notebooks/pcg-z505ls/ have Win2K drivers
I'm not sure that much earlier can be easily found.

Constantly being worked on. Feel free to message me with any corrections or details of cards you would like me to research and add.

Cheers! I did find some earlier drivers. (The machine boots into 98se, which is a good start I guess).
Not sure if I want to go with Win2k, but I'll keep it in reserve 😀

(Hoping someone will look through their old CD collection and go "Oh! I have one of those!")

I thought I had a local Sony mirror, but no joy on that.
