Have a Radeon X800 GTO card for my Athlon 64 PC. Works fine in XP SP3, but when booting into 98 and attempting to install Catalyst 6.2 it claims "no supported hardware is connected". Would the Standard Display Adapter be the device I could try and manually install the INF driver to?

You can unpack driver and force install device.

I must be some kind of standard: the anonymous gangbanger of the 21st century.

I've found that hacking around with 98 to recognize\use pci-e interfaces\cards just isn't worth the time.

Good Luck!

I either fix it or break it permanently... there is no try.

You are absolutely right. To add to that, the chipset (ATI Xpress 200) has no 98 support, ordered an MSI K8T Neo2 mobo and a AGP X800 XT and am selling the old parts. I really only built this machine for 98 so it would be pointless with a board that doesn't support it.
