I just picked up an IBM Aptiva 2168-m53 (Pentium 100mhz socket 7) from my local e-waste. Got the machine running, although it will only run with the included hdd, 1.7GB drive. I tried to use another 4.3gb hdd I had, I have check and it works, bios will see the drive and I can fdisk it to two partitions. Using the Aptiva restore disks it will install everything, but it will not boot to the drive. I also tried a 8gb cf in an ide2cf adapter, again bios recognizes it and I can do the install from the restore disks but no boot. Any ideas

I am also looking for the vrm module and (2) 256k cache modules, I found the ibm part numbers but cannot find any online anywhere. Help would be appreciated.

If I can not figure out any of the above then I will run it as is, running DOS 6.3/win 3.11 on it at the moment. It runs fine just want to upgrade a bit.
