Hi,

Trying to update the BIOS on an Abit be6-II rev 1.0 that I just recapped. The Abit website links are down, and the only place I could find a BIOS file was from theretroweb ( https://theretroweb.com/motherboards/s/abit-a … e6-ii#downloads ). That zip only has one file- the bin file, but the file number/post string checks out. It doesn't have any of the flasher files the Abit website suggests it would (http://abit.ws/page/en/download/guide.php) like awdflash.exe.

That guide does have some instructions for this case- flashing the .bin to a bootable floppy and then downloading awdflash.exe, but the link on abit's website is down for it. It also mentions using dos command line A:\>awdflash AB9_14.BIN /py /sn /cd /cp /cc /cks /R in pure dos mode.

The MB uses Award bios 6.00pg.

Does anyone know where to find this awdflash exe file? Whether it's possible to flash the bios from within windows with a flasher exe? Or whether I can do this with just the one .bin file that I've been able to find?

Thanks for any guidance! I have no idea where to start, but really need to flash it.

Try Uniflash - IIRC it works nicely on Abit boards.

There are many awdflash binaries available here: https://www.wimsbios.com/awardflasher.jsp#gsc.tab=0

Use AWDFlash 7.41, it should work.

Thanks- do I put it on a floppy with the bin file and run in pure dos? Or can I run it in w98?

NO!, don't run it under Windows - you can download the complete original update package (including awdflash) from a number of sources such as ftp://91.121.194.115/pub/download/bios/be6-II/behxu.exe
