I have been tinkering a bit with this mainboard recently. I added the headers for a 2.9V VRM, upgraded L2 cache with an additional COAST stick for 512K in total and flashed the latest BIOS.
I can now use dual voltage CPUs like the MMX233.
Next I installed a socket 5 / socket 7 interposer with integrated step down regulator that can provide 2.0 and 2.2 V. The system starts with a K6-2+ 570 @ 6 x 66 MHz and runs fine.
Of course the BIOS knows nothing about write allocation (it detects the CPU as "80486DX-S @ 66 MHz) so I tried enabling it with "6k6v3" under DOS but it won´t do the trick.
I wonder if the 430FX chipset might be the obstacle here or are there other reasons?
This problem isn´t new

(but no solution there, "mxk6opt" doesn´t work either.
