Hi folks,

I want to populate the PS/2 mouse port on my SOYO SY-4SA2 motherboard. I'd seen a thread on here a while back but for the life of me can't find it anymore. Does anyone know the components needed (type, value, size)?

This is what the unpopulated area looks like:

I seem to recall that thread mentioning that JP4 also needs to be populated and shorted to enable the interrupt line:
JP4 is not connected to pin 36 of the keyboard controller, so that's incorrect. A bodge wire has to be run from that pin to IRQ 12 on an ISA slot.

A BIOS mod is probably also needed to enable the PS/2 mouse? Not 100% sure on that.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! 😀

I found the thread! Latest BIOS for the SOYO 4SA2 motherboard?

It doesn't list the inductor values though. Does anyone know what those are?

So drudging through a number of threads, it's a 1uH inductor.

So the components are:

2x 1 micro-Henry inductor, 1206 dimension, 150 milli-Ohm max DC resistance,
2x 47 pico-Farad capacitors, 16 VDC, 0805 dimension,
2x 4.7 Kilo-Ohm resistors, 100milli-Watt power rating, 0603 dimension.

Keropi's image show how the components need to be soldered on:

And then just a bodge wire from pin 36 on the keyboard controller to the IRQ 12 pin on an ISA slot.
