I’m a complete novice so please excuse me if this is a stupid question.

I’m looking to build this PC-sprint card for a couple of my 8088/V20 machines: https://www.pcbway.com/project/shareproject/P … ccelerator.html

It’s a small PCB that is supposed to go into the socket for the 8284a clock generator.

What type of socket should I be using to connect the small board to the socket on the motherboard? Seems like standard socket pins will be too short to ensure good contact but I’m not sure. Also looked at wire wrap sockets which have much longer legs, would that be correct or are those too long?

Then also with regards to socketing the crystal itself for these small two pin crystals. Is there a specific socket type or just use two individual pins?

Thanks in advance.

What he said, may also be known as "turned pin headers"

You have found your way to https://github.com/reeshub/pc-sprint and aren't going off just PCBway info and maybe a crappy instructable or something right?

Unicorn herding operations are proceeding, but all the totes of hens teeth and barrels of rocking horse poop give them plenty of hiding spots.
