Installed a Tapedeck 2c today on a Windows 98 pc and playing tapes works great. But while trying to record a tape to mp3 or wav I got the error in the screenshot below.

It will create a mp3 or wav file but it only contains a header nothing more. Using Tapedeck version 3.25 at the moment as that is the only version I could find.

Soundcard is an AWE64 (CT4520) and Winamp is installed (old manual said it's needed for recording; but I guess that's only for older versions of Tapedeck).

Anybody knows how I can solve this or has an older version of the Tapedeck software?

Seems it really does not like my AWE64. Tried everything including installing Windows 98SE instead of Windows 98, patching OS, different drivers etc etc.

In the end installed a second sound card (a Sound Blaster Vibra 128 CT4810) and now recording with Tapedeck works. As a workaround you can of course use something else for recording like WavePad which also worked with the AWE64. But that would be too easy. 😀
