Can I replace UV-erasable 5V / DIP-32 EPROM with one that is electrically erasable?
(ROM in question is Texas Instruments 27C010A-15, motherboards is ATC-1425B. Programming will be done with TL866.)

Yes, a 27C010A-15 can be directly replaced by a 1Mbit 28 series EEPROM with 150 ns access time or less and matching voltage. The model number will be something similar to 28C010-15. Double check the datasheet before ordering when you've found something that might fit.

The only potential issue I could think of is if the appliance you want to replace the EPROM in demands a specific chip ID. I've never encountered that in stuff old enough to use EPROMs though.

You could use the TL866 programming software database to find the different maker's model numbers to google 😀

Winbond W29EE011-15 should fit, looking at specs.

That's a 29 series EEPROM, so nope, it won't. You need a 28 series one 😀

Edit: ...but since it's only going to be read once it's installed it might be worth a try after all, if the pinout matches the 27C010A-15. I've never tried to replace a 27 series EEPROM with a 29 series one myself though.

Found W27C010 that is 70-150ns, all other specs same:

Ah, yes, those would definitely work. They're certainly meant as drop in replacements for corresponding EPROMs. Much better than gambling on a 29 series one 😀
