hi all,
Spent a bunch of time today hacking a dx2-66 cpu into this IBM PS/1 Consultant model 2155A-25C, orignally a 486sx-33 with 4mb ram (no L2 cache)
This motherboard only has an overdrive socket for upgrades, but all I had was an ODPR not an ODP dx2 cpu on hand... so I read previous Vogons threads and found I could tie a pin on the SX-33 low to get a regular dx2-66 CPU to work in the overdrive socket.
The SMT 486sx-33 Pin 156 can be joined to the left hand side of C139 to ground it.
I'll be adding some cache, a cd-rom drive and a soundblaster to make this more of a classic DOS gaming box soon.
I'm posting for people in the future looking for options. I have not extensively tested this yet but so far things seems to work ok with DIPS J23, J24, J25 set as 1-2 1-2 2-3 respectively.
Here's some pics of the work:
XT, 286, 386, 486, P200mmx, P3, P4, all the voodoos.
