Just got a Pentium 4 1.7GHz Willamette socket 478 CPU and I wanted to know if it uses the 12V or the 5V line for power?
I know that the Northwood Pentium 4s use the 12V line and I am not sure about the Willamette as it is an older core design.

If your motherboard has the 4 pin cpu power connector, I would rest assured that the cpu is powered from that, i.e. 12V. I'm also fairly sure that this came at the same time as the P4 in general, which was the Willamette originally.

Please use the "quote" option if asking questions to what I write - it will really up the chances of me noticing 😀
