Hi, all. I have this BTC 5100C AT/XT keyboard. According to a manual I found online, "the XT function is per order request". How do I know if my keyboard has the XT capability and how would I enable it? I don't see any switch or anything labeled AT/XT. The back label says "AT". I've searched everywhere on the Internet and found nothing. There are multiple videos about this keyboard on YouTube, but none mentions the dual AT/XT aspect of it. Any help? Thanks!

it means you could order a batch of those in TX version back in teh day from BTC.

Thanks. I swear I read somewhere it was both AT and XT and you could switch to one or the other. I wish I could find the source where I read that...

Edit: Ok. I know where I read it... It's the FlyTech Carry I version:

This is a variant of the BTC 5100, with model number FT-7084. The pencil tray at the top is replaced with a series of grooves, and the keyboard is registered with the FCC under Flytech instead of BTC. Manufacture by BTC is confirmed by the BTC 5100 quality control sticker on the rear, which exactly matches the style used by BTC keyboards.[1] Additionally, this keyboard features an auto-switching feature allowing it to work on both AT and XT class machines.

Why don't you take the cover off and check? It might be as simple as a couple of dip switches, in which case you could set them.

On the other hand, it may not be serviceable that way and might have different internals depending on if it was built as AT or XT, but nothing is lost by checking.

Being the Flytech_Carry_I is auto detecting XT/AT and there is no visible switch port one can assume the standard BTC-5100 does not have the same internals as the Flytech.
Doubt you can make it XT/AT compat without replacing the internal kb controller with same in the Flytech if you want it auto detecting.

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun
