Hi everyone! It's me again
this time I've got server not a toshi(t)ba laptop with broken inverter 😜
So these are my problems: server works, i have one working hard drive in there (HP 36,4GB 15 000RPM) on SCSI Ultra320, 2GB of RAM (2x1GB DDR1 ECC). Motherboard is Intel SE7501WV2, CPU(s) are 2x Intel Xeon SL6VP@3.06GHz, SCSI Controller Adaptec AIC-7902W
The problems are looking like this: server powers on normally, I wanted to install Windows Server 2008 by upgrading the Windows Server 2003 R2 that I wanted to install first on my hard drive (i don't have any dvd's -_-). So i booted up from CD Drive (that i plugged in to IDE onboard connector and powered from second PSU) Windows Server 2003 R2 setup but it didn't detect any hard drives -_-. I tried everything in Adapted Controller BIOS settings, Making RAID(s), Formatting drive but nothing helped. Booting from USB kinda works... but most of the times it either not boots, boots with error that it can't load setup files (win serv 2008 sp2 rtm), or i just get garbage displayed on my monitor. Tried PLoP Boot Manager from CD and i got garbage on my screen (random characters as some of text, glitched backgroud graphics), Tried Hiren's Boot CD 15.2 and it booted up... but i couldn't select anything from it's boot menu (only thing that worked was: ctrl+alt+del).
Tried different USB Ports, same. Tried 3 different CD/DVD Drives on IDE, same. Even borrowed DVD to burn it and guess what: it didn't even booted up, just blinking cursor. Tried swapping RAM, Taking out one of CPUs, swapping hard drive base same thing still.
If there's anything I can do, if there's someone that can help me, I would really appreciate it.
EDIT: I tested RAM with MemTest86 (booted from archlinux cd) and everything is ok, no errors found
