It's a K8V non deluxe revision 1.12 but I can't find the corresponding ASUS support page to flash an older bios. This board has the zero bytes AGP memory buy in 3dmark2o01 and slow 3d performance in windows 98.

The bios on this board has a sticker that says 1001 but the K8V only has a bios version starting at 1003.

Can you post a pic of the initial Post screen, that screen has the BIOS init string on it and you can get the actual BIOS version from there, ignore the sticker.
If you do have the 1001 version then you are likely on a pre-release beta bios, no idea why though.
It's been updated to 1007. The ebay seller I bought it from said he was unhappy with windows 98 performance with the Ti4200 that came in a bundle.

Note of caution - see a few posts online for K8V series boards referring to the correct flash app to use when moving between early versions and 1003 & beyond
"If your current BIOS is earlier than 1003 (e.g. 1001), please flash
BIOS using afudos, and do not use EZFlash or ASUS Update"

Why is it that modern browsers cannot open ftp links ..Firefox just up and ignores that link and tries to open it in Chrome ...Chrome is also just as useless as opening ftp links.

Don't know about Chrome, but suspect its the same security concerns as Firefox - https://blog.mozilla.org/security/2021/07/20/ … -in-firefox-90/
It's one of the few reasons I keep an IE install around.
Are there any good but simple ftp programs around ?
I would prefer to not awaken the sleeping cancer that is IE.

I can never get the right syntax for afudos to work.

Was assuming you wanted try something older than v1003 originally linked by Trashbytes?
Anyway, correct syntax is afudos /iK8VB1003.AMI

Thank you! I was just confused because ASUS listed 1003 as the first bios. After grabbing Filezilla I can see now that your site has the 1001 bios, I'll go ahead and try that with the correct syntax you provided.
Edit: That worked perfectly, now I'm going to try and find the latest bios that doesn't have the AGP bug.

1003 is likely the first official BIOS, anything before 1003 isnt official but more of a beta version, its pretty cool yours was a 1001 release happy you can restore its original version.

I think you're right it would be cool to just stay with the 1001 so it's all original. You saved this board for me man, I appreciate you!
There are reasons to upgrade the BIOS, usually better cpu and ram support but not every board needs to be at the very latest. Many time the very latest fixes odd shit that most will never encounter 😀
added for Trashbytes: Chrome v73 32bit Portable works very well for ftp, even on 64bit win 7 and 10.
I use Filezilla for most big ftp work and it is fairly easy to use once you get the hang of it. Not as easy as Chrome 73 for just grabbing a few files though....
Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun

Fingers crossed it fixes the AGP issues, if it does I wonder what they changed with the later versions that messed the AGP up.

The zero-byte AGP bug has been vanquished from this board. 3dmark reports the proper AGP memory now and it scores 11,550 with a 754 Athlon 64 3200+ . The real test though, is Quake 3 Arena time demo where it would score around 80fps before with the bug no matter the graphics card. Now the Ti4200 scores 220fps @ 1024x768. I'm going to drop in a Quadro FX 3000 and see what kind of uplift I'm looking at.
