Today i bought several hardware, and came across a 1MB PCI ExpertColor graphic card.
It uses the Avance Logic Inc. ALG2302 chip. So, after some cleanup i decided to bench it.

Well... It's perfomance in 3dbench 1.0C is rather interesting!

Using the same machine, i tested a few usual chips, and here are the results:

Intel-P3-100-5-500-ASUS-P2B-Intel 440BX-512KB-PCI-ATI 3D Rage II-2MB-sprcorreia-168.5
Intel-P3-100-5-500-ASUS-P2B-Intel 440BX-512KB-PCI-S3 Trio 64V+-2MB-sprcorreia-427.4
Intel-P3-100-5-500-ASUS-P2B-Intel 440BX-512KB-PCI-S3 Virge DX-2MB-sprcorreia-461.0
Intel-P3-100-5-500-ASUS-P2B-Intel 440BX-512KB-PCI-Avance Logic Inc. ALG2302-1MB-sprcorreia-460.6

So, it's on par with the Virge, which is not a bad thing. ATI performance is just disappointing...

Can anyone with similar Avance chips/cards post some results?

Thanks. That's a nice chart you made. Looks like Tseng is indeed the best thing around for PCI.

There is no 'best' card. The ET6000 might be fast as early PCI graphics card but also has some compatibility problems with older software.
If you go for DOS, the most available and very suitable cards are S3 Trio64 / Vision / Virge.
As for the later cards, think about getting a
Voodoo Banshee / Voodoo 3 or Riva128 to GF2 GTS or ATI Mach64 / Rage Pro series a.s.o.

Though in my opinion the differences in graphics cards are much less than with sound solutions.
All cards do Standard VGA and most of the Super VGA modes. Only question is if you want EGA scrolling compatibility, good VESA 2.0 LFB support, support for not so common high color modes as 320x200x15bit f.e. and maybe also Win32 GDI acceleration functions (lines, rectangles, overlays etc.)

One thing i found about this Avance Chip is that it's gamma seting it's quite good compared to the S3 Virge. So, to you S3 are the most compatible ones regarding all functions you mentioned?
