PowerYMF works with YMF724, YMF740, YMF744 and YMF754 only.
P55T2P4, Intel Pentium 133MHz, 32Mb EDO, S3 Virge 325, YMF-719s + SC-55, AHA-2940U2W, ST39175LW, UltraPlex40Max, Opti USB PCI, Sony CPD-G400P 19"
You need an compatible card to use it.
The MIDI is actually pretty cool with it, here are some recordings:

Also, if you love good old Yamahas banging beats, definitely try Yamaha SYXG 100 software MIDI driver! With Turtle Beach Pinnacle it sounds freaking amazing!

I have YMF724, but can someone help me to make MIDI hears greats on DOS games?
This tool works in Windows environment only. So to get what you want you have to load soundfonts using this tool and then run game (under Windows).

yamaha 7xx soundcards will only provide midi synth in windows(or a dos window in win9x).
so if you want to play games in real dos, better get an isa sound card with hardware midi synth or a midi daughterboard.
