Anyone have any links for dip cache part numbers and/or possible cross reference?

Could you be more specific? What is this about?

I've always had problems trying to obtain replacement SRAM cache chips, in different sizes, package types and speeds from numerous manufacturers and was wondering if there was a database of manufacturer part numbers.

Oh I see.

Well for 386 and 486 machines I always get nine of these: http://au.element14.com/jsp/search/productdet … i-55c5-00001621

That is for 256KB Cache, IMO the easiest to configure. With 15ns also plenty of speed. Can run my 486 with the tightest timings with these chips.

Second hand there are various brands. Just look at old motherboard photos and you get the idea. Google for XXL images so you can see the model number. There isn't that much choice so it's easy to get your head around it.
