I finally received the abovementioned card and wanted to test it in a 486 board which appears to have a faulty onboard IDE controller. However, it didn't work. I get an error saying: UltraTX2 BIOS was not loaded because no drives are attached.

Why won't the card see the hard drive? I tested it on a late model socket 370 board and it worked fine with the same drive and same cable...

Cheers

I recall it working on my 486. What motherboard are you using?

I haven't used that particular board. Maybe try a CD/DVD drive on the TX2 to see if it is recognised. Try to disable the motherboard's onboard IDE and set boot priority to SCSI if that option exists.
