4x PCI (prefer 5)

It also has to support k6-2+ 533

and 3 SD ram slots for 768MB (though i'd settle for 2 slots if everything else met).

Looks like the Tyan board supports the K6-2+ but the Asus might not just from what some google searches suggested

That Asus p5a would be perfect except "Due to a hardware problem, P5A Rev 1.05 and 1.06 will work extremely slow with a K6plus CPU."
I assume that refers to the k6-2+ CPUs...which I have 🤣

Regarding the Tyan, seller doesn't ship to Australia.

I've spent some time on Ebay and did find a p5a 1.03, but they wanted $200 for it and $50 shipping.

It's sad because the soyo ticks all the boxes, and i bought all the components around that setup then i get a dud.
And the seller is now saying 'i thought i was sending it within the usa'...umm it clearly says australia on my address, that and there is no excuse for no packing!

No problem, I am not busy today and it is always nice to see a new member of Vogons, make sure to post some pics when it is all setup! I had a Tyan Trinity board like the one I linked you to, $30 thought it was a score. Ended up being unstable and smelled of fried electronics. Guy sold it as NIB 😒

Why not just get a 440BX? You'll probably be much better off that way; AGP support in SS7 boards is not so great.

Because I'm going to mainly be using this for dos games, don't want too fast of a cpu.
With the k6-2 I can just disable the L1/2 as needed.

I've spent about $400 on this so far, just the thought of having to buy a new board is killing me.
And the seller doesn't want to offer refund because 'old hardware'.

You know even a partial refund would be a nice compromise, even if it was just the cost of the board -shipping or less.

He's not offering anything 'because old tech, no warranties'.
