Configuration:

Pentium 233mmx
P5I430VX/250DM Explorer II motherboard
2x32Mb of edo ram
Promise Ultra TX100 IDE card
Kingspec 16Gb Pata SSD
Diamond Stealth II S220
Diamond Monster 3D
Mitsumi CD ROM
Panasonic 1.44MB FDD
Aopen AT Case
Optiquest 17" LCD

OS is Windows 95 OSR2.5 release. I'm using latest 3dfx reference drivers. Problem is in GLQuake and Quake 2, some weird (black) rendering artifacts, flashing... I tried changing drivers, updated DirectX version to 6.0, no success. DXDiag runs fine, all test are successful. No issues in Unreal or Populous. Did anyone had any similar issues with Voodoo 1 boards before?

Voodoo not overclocked? Maybe try a cooler pointing at the voodoo and see if that helps. Perhaps it overheats a little.

Few weeks later, 28mmx28mm heat sinks arrived from China (Ebay) and after attaching them to both 3dfx chips from Monster 3D and running Quake 2 for over an hour , not a single rendering artifacts including flashing appeared. Here is the picture of my Diamond Monster 3D:

Pointing a fan at them also will be even better but glad you fixed the problem.

Nice find and they are just the right size..

Fits perfectly, recommend especially due to low price of $6 a piece. Anyhow i've let system run Quake 2 demo for 5-6 hours, not a single problem.
