The 286, an all-in-one Compaq 486DX2/66, a HP 200mmx slimline thingy with RH 7.3, IBM PII with win98FE with fully functioning usb support and this hacked together P4 Linux shit box get the most use.

Last new x86 machine I bought new was 1990 so most my hardware has cost next to nothing or been free because it's been replaced and deemed too old by the previous owner.

Of course I can run Dos and Windows3./9x on my Acorn RiscPC with it's StrongArm card in a pinch using an x86 co-pro if the old boxen vanish 😉

I need to build a P3 machine eventually. My dad still had my old 700MHz P3 up until 4/5 years ago, but eventually sold it as he deemed it a waste of space... It was basically useless for eveyday usage by then, but I have way to many fond memories of that machine... Probably the most fun I ever had tinkering with a PC was creating a "faux"-quadruple boot (triple boot in reality, W2k, NT 3.51 and Win98... but I had patched IO.SYS so MS-DOS 7.10 could also start Windows 3.11).

Not counting the ones I don't really care about or are not in regular service at the moment.

1. V-tech Laser 8086 XT/3 10Mhz (didnt planned this one, but dont going it selling either) Its nice to have an 8086 & a 8088 😎
2. ST JUKO XT 8088 (now its 8mhz, but i hope these can make 10 mhz also)

5 486 machine (dont know how much Mhz it would be (but iam think 100Mhz or so)

9. Intel Core I7 2600K (i have made this machine to go online like steam, and would also be 32-bit OS compatible (so also an 32-bit file transfer machine)

I actually had to think about it a little bit, but in terms of what I could power-up and actually use right now (but may not be hooked up):

- My new main PC (Core i5 with Windows 7)
- My main "retro" PC (dual Xeon with XP)
- My secondary "retro" PC (Pentium 4 Willamette with 98SE)
- The "quiet box" (Pentium 4EE and XP)
- Secondary desktop computer (Core 2 with Windows 7)
- Personal laptop (Core i5 with Windows 7)
- Secondary laptop (Pentium dual-core with Windows Vista)

That makes seven. Not all of this as at one desk/workstation either. There's probably as many (if not more) in bins as spares too (which is also where the "older stuff" is). In terms of "next up" I'm plotting a CrossFire machine using some of the parts left-over from my old main PC, and perhaps finishing the MMX that's been sitting in my garage for a year now. 🤣

It is good I'm not the one with most computers. 😁

Number 5 is my only box with ISA slots but it's taking up precious room for limited marginal functionality: linux feels sluggish on it and running DOS on bare metal doesn't seem as interesting as having a faster Linux box. So may be rebuilt soon with newer components. Or maybe I'll wrap it in cling film and keep pot plants on it.

I have a bunch of x86-based machines, including 8088s, 486es, Pentiums, Pentium Pro, PII, Athlons, P4/D, Core2 Duo and Core i7...
The only thing that should be truly PC-compatible is my IBM 5160 (aside from the lacking tape interface). However, I currently have an ATi Small Wonder videocard in it, rather than a real IBM card, and it is not 100% compatible. It seems to insert some extra waitstates.
Once I have it replaced with an original IBM CGA, the 5160 should be 99.999% compatible with the IBM PC 5150.
I wonder what my other 8088-machines will do with that real CGA card.
