Has anyone tinkered with using one of these 486 single-board computers for a standalone retro-gaming system?

Tends to have slow Windows9x drivers, it's okay in 2000 though. Scitech Display Doctor helps activate linear writes for it which has a bit of speed gain but has instability under Windows.

I have an ITOX Star board - it's made by DFI, came in 66 and 133MHz versions and is highly integrated. Some points of interest being that the STPC CPU performs identically to a Cx486DX2-66 so I guess ST's contract was still valid until the mid-2000's, it takes ATX PSU's, it has temperature monitoring. Another thing is that it takes the M-System flash drive so you could run DOS from an SSD in effect.

Haven't gotten to play with it as much as I'd like yet, but I'd bet I could make a very compact yet powerful enough 486 with it. It ran well with what experiments I tried anyway. It does have ISA and PCI available too.
