Yes, the width\length are same on S7 and S370, the latter has one\two (depends of side) extra inner pin "rings" and diffirent key orientation.

I'm not sure about the external sizes are different or not, but if you are asking this about the CPU cooler compatibility, I can say that they can use same CPU coolers with ease. My Socket 7 machines are using at the moment stock Intel PIII coolers.

Yes. But, many Super Socket 7 boards have capacitors very close to the socket. So larger coolers don't fit.

Socket 462 is also roughly the same size (Slightly thinner) - I often use Athlon coolers on SS7 and S370 systems, though ones employing extra latches are incompatible.

It's exactly what I do. Two of my 370 rigs uses stock AMD Athlon 64 Coolers.
