So if the video cable is moved in a certain way the entire monitor will turn a yellowly green color. Thankfully if i keep the cable in a certain way the monitor is just fine.

Any have any ideas about would could cause this?

it has to do with the pins on the connector. red blue and green , if one doesn't connect very well you'll be missing that color.since you mentioned yellow it would be losing the blue pin.

I usually (carefully) just bend the pins on the monitors vga cable a tiny bit so each one scrapes its socket a bit more.
