So I decided to finally get a 3Dfx card to start my new pc build. I've got everything setup, including a base 98SE install, but neither of my sound card's drivers seem to want to work. The first one I have is a Sound Blaster a friend of mine gave me, PCI with the CT5803 that I can't seem to get a good driver for. The second is an ISA Pro AudioSpectrum 16SL, I have the driver for that, but it doesn't seem compatible with windows 98 at all. So my questions are if someone can point me to the right driver for the soundblaster? And is there anyway to get a AS16 to work with Windows 98? If not, what's a good card I can get for my system? Any help would be appreciated.

For the CT5803 try the "Creative Ensoniq AudioPCI" or "Sound Blaster PCI64/128" driver found in the driver library. http://www.vogonsdrivers.com/

Installed it, no error messages but no sound is coming out, I'm hooked up to good speakers, am I missing a cable or something? Here's what the card looks like.

The speakers do always connect to the green jack

In order

Yellow: Joystick port
Pink: Microphone
Clear blue: Line In
Green: Speaker Out

Also check the volume on the mixer :3 I wish you good luck on this owo hope this helps

Also other thing you can try is Everest to see if recognizes the card so you can find the drivers more easily

For the creative card, Looks like you need the Dell drivers

The PAS may be interesting to play with in DOS, but 9x is happier with PCI cards. I found the following 2 links to drivers after a quick google, both for dos but you can load dos drivers in 9x as windows loads
Media Vision Pro Audio Spectrum and Pro Audio Spectrum 16?
