Hello, I want to make a k6-2 machine, I have everything but can't get it working.
I have various k6-2 processors from 333MHz to 450MHz and 5 Soyo SY-5EHM/5EH5 motherboards. One of these motherboards has the socket broken, so I used it as repacement to change some capacitors from other Soyo motherboards.

The problem is that none of these motherboards boot. I have a PCI POST card (I don't know what is the real name) but freezes at FF or 5F every time I power on these mobos.

I don't even know if is correctly configured jumper-wise. I've found a manual but seems to be for the 1.3 version, that has some differences. Mine are 1.0 and 1.1

The strange thing is that I had these mobo up and running. The last week I decided to dissasemble them in parts (jumpers, processors, ram, psu, etc). But now it doesn't work.

If someone knows what can I do (except buying something), because I don't know what to do.

PD: I have other socket 7 mobos but these are for 66MHz bus processors.

Removing all jumpers from old motherboards is a very bad idea, often they have jumpers that isnt documented at all.

It's impossible for us to tell you whats is wrong without pictures, but if you have removed all jumpers I would start with double checking those.

Here is the manual for V1.1

Read the motherboard manual, do what it says, then report back

I've found the problem:

Soyo SY-5EHM/5EH5 v1.0/1.1:
Capturar_1.png

Soyo SY-5EHM/5EH5 V1.3:
Capturar_2.png

Was just a bad information problem. The manual I was using is for the v1.3, but there are small differences in between these models. The most evident is the fact that the processor multiplier switch has different adjustments from the same procesor for each mobo model. Luckily, the processors work very well. There was no damage at all.

Thanks.
