since I recently bought a ton of higher-end PCI Graphics cards, just to find out what works and what doesn't, I want to compile the Results here and potentialls save other people time, buying a card that works.

Things to consider: Chipset of Motherboard, Type of Graphics card

Soon, I will hopefully and finally get a Socket 4 board that has PCI slots, so I can test PCI Cards with it.
I will set up 3 Socket 3 boards for now and compile the results below.:

Shuttle HOT433, 192MB RAM, 1MB Cache, Win98SE, Boot Media: CF Card (Kingston)

Cards with a * are literally brand new and pulled from original packaging.

Geforce 2MX 400, 32MB SDR (Gainward) - Works and boots

This is actually the first time I see the GF2MX being the best in something 🤣!

Never expected this, but those 2MX cards were so very plentiful, nobody wanted to ever buy these (I can't remember ever having to pay for any of the ones that eventually ended up in my hands). By themselves they aren't actually very bad graphics cards or anything, I kinda see them like 2MB/4MB S3 cards. They just work and often don't even require active cooling (just don't try to run FEAR on one of these hehe).

The fastest PCI card I have ever found for DOS use was ARK Logic PV2000, it is a mile ahead of anything apart from Tseng ET6000 and still beats that handily.
